Principle of Ultrasonic testing machine

Ultrasonic flaw detection is a method that uses ultrasonic energy to penetrate into the depths of metal materials and from one section to another section, a feature of reflection at the edge of the interface to check part defects. When the ultrasonic beam passes from the surface of the part from the probe to Inside the metal, reflected waves occur when encountering the defect and the bottom surface of the part, forming a pulse waveform on the fluorescent screen, and judging the position and size of the defect based on these pulse wave forms.

Advantage of Ultrasonic testing machine
1.Strong penetration ability, the detection depth can reach several meters;

2.High sensitivity, you can find a reflector equivalent to the air gap reflection ability of about a few tenths of a millimeter in diameter; the size of the detectable defect can usually be regarded as 1/2 of the wavelength.

3.It is more accurate in determining the orientation, size, shape and other aspects of the internal reflector;

4.Only need to approach the inspected object from one side;

5.Defect inspection results can be provided immediately;

In total the advantages of ultrasonic flaw detection are large thickness, high sensitivity, fast speed, low cost, harmless to human body, and can locate and quantify defects. However, the display of ultrasonic flaw detection is not intuitive, the flaw detection technique is difficult, and it is easily affected by subjective and objective factors, and the inconvenience of the flaw detection result is saved, which also has its limitations.
